Seol sketches-Seoulites return after offering rituals

The majority of Koreans along with close kin and relatives observed family rituals on Tuesday, the lunar new years' day by laboriously preparing elaborate displays of traditional food and by paying homage to their ancestors.

In most households, sons and daughters offered grand displays of respect through Korean bows to their parents wishing them the best of luck and good health in the new year while conversing words of blessings among themselves.

Public memorial parks and hills on the outskirts of Seoul and countrysides nationwide were dotted with cars and people paying visits to their ancestral tombs.
