North Korea’s state-run news agency says it is only a matter of time before an inter-Korean military clash takes place.

The Korean Central News Agency claimed Thursday that South Korea and the United States are training for war with the North.

The news agency says the political and military standoff between the two Koreas has reached its peak.

The report also denounced a planned deployment of F-16 fighter jets from Japan to South Korea, which it claimed is a preparation for invasion.

Meanwhile, the South’s Joint Chiefs of Staff said no unusual movements have been spotted near the western sea border, the scene of bloody naval clashes in 1999 and 2002.
