NK Keeps Inter-Korean Border Open

North Korea is continuing to keep its border open to South Koreans on Wednesday, one day after it was reopened.

The Gyeongeui Highway Transit Office said Wednesday that North Korea sent its approval for cross-border travel by South Korean workers and vehicles to and from the Gaeseong Industrial Complex.

About 740 South Korean workers and some 440 vehicles crossed the border into the inter-Korean industrial complex in the North on Wednesday morning.

Meanwhile, chiefs of South Korean companies operating factories in the industrial park plan to return to the South on Wednesday afternoon. They arrived at Gaeseong Tuesday for talks with officials of the North’s Central Guidance Bureau for Special Zone Development to deliver their stance on the border closure.
