The military says it will activate an emergency response team to closely monitor and take countermeasures the moment North Korea places a rocket on a launch pad.

An unidentified military official said Wednesday that the team will be comprised of intelligence and planning officials.

The official said the team will closely cooperate with the U.S. military, monitor the North's rocket launch through spy satellites and other intelligence assets, and relay the information to related ministries.
