NK Airs Footage of Leader Kim Jong-il

North Korea has televised a documentary of leader Kim Jong-il that compared images of Kim before and after he reportedly suffered a stroke last August.

The North’s state-run Korean Central Television aired an hour-long documentary on Tuesday that showed Kim waving both hands while talking before he became ill last August. The documentary then showed Kim with his left hand in his pocket last November after he reportedly suffered a stroke.

Images that followed showed Kim clapping his hands or typing on the computer, demonstrating the health of his left hand.

Korean Central Television aired the documentary before unveiling footage of its rocket launch, apparently in a bid to prove to its people that Kim’s health is improving.
