North Korea has released video footage of a rocket it launched on Sunday.
The footage released Tuesday to the Associated Press shows a three-stage white rocket bearing the name “Joseon,” which is North Korea’s name for itself.
The 30-second clip shows the "Eunha-Two" rocket blasting off a launch pad, then blazing eastward across the sky.
The video also showed a clock at the satellite command center displaying the launch time as 11:15 a.m., five minutes earlier than the launch time claimed by the North.
Soon after the footage was released to the AP, the state-run Korean Central Television also aired the footage, claiming the satellite was successfully put into orbit.
In 1998, Pyongyang disclosed footage of its firing of its "Daepodong-One" missile five days after the launch.
The North seems to have moved up the release of its latest launch to refute the international community’s speculations that the rocket was a failure.
