The government has continued to restrict South Korean civilian aid groups from visiting North Korea since the North launched a long-distance rocket on Sunday.

A limit has also been placed on the types of aid that can be sent to the North, such as construction materials. Only humanitarian items like food, medicine and supplies for children will be allowed in.

An aid organization said it had planned a delivery of coal briquettes to the North on Tuesday but was asked by the Unification Ministry to delay the shipment until the middle of the month.

Another aid group said it postponed a visit planned for the end of April back until May due to the rocket launch.

A humanitarian organization said that although it had received an invitation and guarantee of safety from North Korea, it will delay a planned visit to the North until after April.
