Kim Koo’s Relics Designated as Cultural Assets

The government announced Friday that independence fighter Kim Koo’s relics will be designated as cultural assets.

The Cultural Heritage Administration of Korea said it has decided to designate 19 of Kim’s relics on the 90th anniversary of the founding of the Korean government-in-exile during Japanese colonial rule.

The relics include clothing Kim was wearing when he was shot dead, his personal stamp and a pocket watch he exchanged with another freedom fighter, Yoon Bong-gil.

The administration plans to officially register Kim’s relics on the 60th anniversary of his passing in June.
