Ji Young-joon has won the men's event at the Daegu International Marathon Race.

Ji finished the 42-point-two kilometer course first Sunday with a time of two hours, eight minutes and 30 seconds, beating Kenya’s Kiprotich Kenei by one minute and 30 seconds.

The victory was Ji's first in a marathon and he also broke his previous record by 13 seconds.

The Daegu marathon was held at the course where the IAAF World Championships in Athletics in 2011 will take place.
