Korean national coach Guus Hiddink stressed Thursday that his squad will continue to train intensively into early May and that he was carefully deliberating on the final lineup of players. In an interview with the Yonhap News Agency in Tokyo, the Dutch-born head coach said that his team had not shied away from tough opponents in an attempt to improve the team, citing friendlies it held with tough Senegal, Croatia and the United States, as well as competing in the Gold Cup games in January. He reiterated that he would continue to concentrate on making players more physically fit by increasing their stamina, speed, and building the mental preparedness of the team. The Dutchman, in the Japanese capital to attend the Team Workshop, added that his squad would train hard to get ready for the friendly matches scheduled for April against China and Costa Rica. He said he would analyze the team's performance during the April friendlies so that he would develop a strategy based on his past experiences that would best suit his team to compete against the best teams in the world.
