The Defense Ministry will push for a tour of the demilitarized zone (DMZ), the border separating the two Koreas, for the national delegations to the World Cup soccer finals and their families, slated for late May 31st thru June 30th. A ministry official said Saturday a visit to Dorasan Station on the severed inter-Korean railway just south of the DMZ by the world's top-class soccer players and their families would be instrumental in forming an international voice for easing tensions on the Korean Peninsula. He added the ministry will push for the visit if the national teams competing for the World Cup want it.
