Unification Minister Hyun In-taek says the government will carefully review North Korea’s requests regarding the operation of the Gaeseong Industrial Complex.

He reported to the parliamentary committee on foreign affairs, trade and unification Wednesday that his ministry will collect opinions of South Korean companies operating in the industrial park.

He also said North Korea rejected Seoul’s request for the release of a South Korean worker detained by the North at the end of last month.

The minister added that Seoul conveyed its deep concern about the detained worker, but Pyongyang said the issue was not part of the agenda for Tuesday’s inter-Korean talks.
