Officials said Monday that Seoul City Hall will designate 568 motel-sized inns as "World Inns" this month, named after the upcoming World Cup soccer finals, to receive soccer fans or tourists during the event. An official said....the 568 larger inns with 13,193 rooms are located in downtown Seoul. He added the city is pushing ahead with the plan as World Cup tourists want lower-priced lodging facilities. City Hall is now in negotiations with Chinese authorities as more than 20,000 Chinese soccer fans, who will come here during the World Cup, have expressed interest in staying at the World Inns. The official added that some 1,000 French fans also want to stay at the lower-priced inns. The inns, which will soon be named World Inns, will have translation telephones and facilities advertising the World Cup, which will be co-hosted by South Korea and Japan from May 31 through June 30.
