N.Korea Rejects UNSC Sanctions

North Korea has rejected the United Nations Security Council’s decision on Friday to blacklist three North Korean companies for allegedly aiding in Pyongyang’s long-range rocket launch on April fifth.

North Korea’s Deputy U.N. Ambassador Pak Tok Hun told reporters that North Korea will not recognize the decision.

Pak went on to say that the Security Council violated U.N. charters for its pursuit of sanctions on countries that attempt peaceful development of outer space.

He reiterated the North’s claim that the rocket launch was not a ballistic missile test, but rather an attempt to put a satellite into orbit.
