Koreas Discussing Details of 2nd S-N Dialogue

South and North Korea are holding working-level consultations through letters to open a second inter-Korean meeting.

An official at the Unification Ministry in Seoul said Wednesday that the two Koreas are holding consultations to decide on details for a second meeting, including the venue and timetable.

The official said the two sides are exchanging letters through the South’s Gaeseong Industrial District Management Committee. The South reportedly plans to propose holding a second round of talks with North Korea as early as this weekend.

During the second South-North meeting, Seoul is expected to demand the immediate release of a South Korean worker detained by the North.

The first such meeting was held on April 21st. The meeting marked the first time South Korean officials crossed the border into the North for a meeting since South Korean president Lee Myung-bak took office.
