NK: No Benefit to Dialogue with US

North Korea says there is no use in engaging in dialogue with the United States.

The country’s foreign ministry spokesman made the remark in an interview with a reporter at the North's Korean Central News Agency on Friday.

The spokesman said that based on his observations of the policies of the Obama administration over the past 100 days, it is evident that the hostile policies of the U.S. toward the North have not changed.

The spokesman also emphasized that as has already been proclaimed, North Korea will step up its nuclear deterrent.

He added that Pyongyang's recent measures carried out to bolster its national defense capabilities are aimed at protecting its sovereignty and security, not at drawing attention for dialogue.
