Seoul to Keep Seeking Inter-Korean Talks

The government will continuously seek to hold inter-Korean dialogue despite North Korea’s declaration that it will nullify all bilateral contracts and regulations on the industrial park in Gaeseong.

The Unification Ministry in Seoul said Sunday that its proposal to the North to hold working-level talks at Gaeseong Monday remains valid, and awaits the North’s response.

Though whether the North will agree to holding Monday’s talks remains unclear, Seoul said the dialogue could proceed since Pyongyang has not returned a list of South Korean officials set to attend Monday’s meeting.

A senior ministry official said Seoul will reject any unilateral move on the industrial park by the North, but that inter-Korean talks must resume to resolve any misunderstanding between the two sides.
