S. Korean Civic Group in North Korea

A member of South Korea's opposition Democratic Party is in North Korea as part of a delegation from a local civic group, amid heightened tension in inter-Korean relations.

According to representatives at the Korean Sharing Movement (KSA), Rep. Chun Jung-bae and seven other members arrived in Pyongyang Wednesday. The group will tour a pharmaceutical company, a hospital and farms in the North before returning home on Saturday.

Chun's visit marks the first time in six months that Pyongyang has allowed a South Korean politician to enter the reclusive communist state. Kang Ki-kap, the leader of the Democratic Labor Party (DLP) visited the North in November.
