The film “Mother,” directed by Bong Joon-ho, left the 62nd Cannes Film Festival awards empty handed, despite accolades from film critics and reviewers.

The South Korean film was invited to the “Un Certain Regard” section at this year’s festival.

The “Un Certain Regard” prize went to Greek Director Yorgos Lanthimos’ “Dogtooth.”

Romanian director Corneliu Porumboiu won the jury prize at the section with his work “Police, Adjective.”

The film festival ends Sunday.
