'Thirst' Nabs Jury Prize at Cannes

South Korean director Park Chan-wook’s thriller "Thirst" has won the jury prize at the 62nd Cannes International Film Festival, which ended early Monday.

It was Park’s second award at the renowned film fest, following his Grand Jury Prize win in 2004 for his film "Oldboy.”

Following his acceptance of the award, Park said he is content just to be able to make films. He added that he wished to share the award with his close friend and colleague, actor Song Gang-ho.

Monday’s award was the eighth time a Korean film has received one of the main awards at the Cannes International Film Festival.
