Russia has confirmed that North Korea carried out an underground nuclear test on Monday.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov expressed concerns about Pyongyang’s second nuclear test during his visit to Lebanon on Monday.

An official from Moscow’s Defense Ministry said Russian monitoring facilities confirmed an underground nuclear blast in North Korea with an estimated yield of ten to 20 kilotons.

Russia’s Itar-Tass news agency cited a Moscow official as saying that Russian testing conducted in the bordering Primorsky Krai region found radiation levels to be normal.
