Manchester United midfielder Park Ji-sung has become the first Asian soccer player to take part in a Champions League final.

Park started off strong in the final against Barcelona in Rome on Wednesday. He came as close to scoring as any player on Manchester would all night during the opening minute, but his shot on goal was deflected. Manchester ended up losing the match 2-0.

Dimitar Berbatov replaced Park in the 66th minute, just before Argentina's Lionel Messi scored Barcelona's decisive second goal.

Park was excluded from the team’s Champions League final last year.
