NK ICBM Headed to Launch Site

North Korea is reportedly transporting an intercontinental ballistic missile to a new long-range missile launch site in Dongchang-ri, Cheolsan County, North Pyeongan Province.

The move is in accord with the North’s recent announcement that it plans to test-fire a long-distance missile.

A high-ranking South Korean government official said Seoul has obtained evidence of the transport of the missile, which, South Korean intelligence says, is headed for the Dongchang-ri launch site.

The official predicted the North Korean missile launch will likely take place sometime around the summit between South Korea and the U.S. scheduled for mid-June.

The South Korean Defense Ministry said last September that North Korea was building a new missile base in Dongchang-ri and that 80 percent of the construction was complete.
