An inaugural high-level media forum between South Korea and China will open Thursday in Beijing.

During the event hosted by China's State Council Information Office and Korea's 21st Century Korea-China Exchange Association, journalists will discuss expanding bilateral media exchanges.

Thirteen former and incumbent editing and news bureau chiefs from Korean media firms and 16 more from China will participate.

They will discuss the role of media in fighting the financial crisis, ways to promote bilateral understanding through media, and ways to expand exchanges and channels of cooperation.
