Samsung Electronics Co. carried out a free repair service campaign for its products in China, named the "Great Wall Service", from Monday to Sunday in 35 regions including Beijing, Shanghai and Tianjin in China. The electronics giant said Friday...the campaign was conducted mostly at department stores and large-scales business centers ahead of International Consumer Rights and Interests Day, which falls on March 15, without charging customers the cost of labor and inspections. All Samsung goods which were checked during the campaign will be repaired by Samsung in the upcoming 18 months on the condition that consumers pay for parts. During the campaign, Samsung held large-scale exhibition and sales sessions regarding its goods. Samsung launched the yearly repair event in 2000 in an attempt to upgrade its image and promote its products. A Samsung source said Samsung will focus on the sale of notebook PCs, LCD monitors, and projection TVs in China this year.
