The Ministry of Government Administration and Home Affairs plans to employ former diplomats to provide support for this summer's World Cup finals. The ministry said Monday that Minister Lee Keun-sik has officially requested 59 former ambassadors, consuls and ministers to bolster the nation's World Cup efforts. The ministry said that their knowledge, expertise and global experience accumulated while being stationed in foreign climes would be invaluable to the operation of volunteer squads. The list of former diplomats requested to participate in the project includes the former ambassadors to South Africa (Kim Young-sun), Paraguay (Kyung Chang-hun) and Brazil (Byun Jong-kyou).
