The Small and Medium Business Administration (SMBA) said Sunday....South Korea will launch a portal site by the end of October to help small and medium businesses of South Korea, China, Japan, and member states of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) get easier access to information on their products and do transactions electronically. An SMBA spokesman said...the SMBA will soon hold talks with the countries on the launching of an e-market place for the small businesses of the ASEAN Plus Three countries so the site could begin operation by the end of the year. The site to be established in cooperation with the Small and Medium Industry Promotion Industry will help Korean, Chinese, Japanese, and ASEAN small businesses find buyers, sign purchase contracts and exchange information on products electronically. The spokesman said...the site will help Korean small and medium businesses increase exports. President Kim Dae-jung proposed the launch of the e-market place for member states during the ASEAN Plus Three summit meeting held in Brunei in November last year.
