Inter-Korean Talks Resume

Officials of South and North Korea resumed talks at three p.m. on Thursday in Gaeseong following a brief meeting between the two sides earlier in the day.

The Unification Ministry in Seoul said Thursday’s discussions are focused on pending issues related to operations at the inter-Korean Gaeseong Industrial Complex in the North.

The two sides’ earlier meeting started at 10:40 a.m., but lasted only 50 minutes.

During the morning round, South Korean officials reportedly conveyed Seoul’s positions on the industrial park, including the issue of a South Korean worker detained by the North for allegedly denouncing Pyongyang’s regime.

North Korean officials reportedly presented the North's demands on operating terms for the complex, including wage increases for workers.
