The Jeju provincial government said Saturday it will open a foreign language translation service from Monday to facilitate investment by foreigners into the nation's southernmost island. Officials said...the translation service is part of Jeju's plan to turn the island into an international tax-free city under a special law set to go into effect April 1. Officials added...the team will begin with seven translators in the initial stages but will gradually add more staff. The service will be focused on translating regulations, documents and other details related to the free city law in the early stages. It will later expand to include providing translation services for foreign investors and travellers. Signs on public buildings, streets and maps will also have English names added.
