Europe to provide humanitarian aid to N. Korea

The European Commission (EC) said Tuesday it has approved a proposal to make 5.55 million euros available for relief groups active in North Korea. The funds will be allocated via the European Commission Humanitarian Office (ECHO) to the EU's partner civic organizations. The EU said that the decision will benefit some 250,000 people and the money will be used to repair or construct water and sewage systems.
