S.Korean Group to Send Medicine to NK

A South Korean civic group says it is planning to send medicine to North Korea.

Seoul-based Medical Aid for Children said Thursday that the medicine, worth some 300 million won, or 238-thousand U.S. dollars, will be shipped Saturday.

The group had also been planning to send medical equipment to a children’s hospital that opened in late April in Pyongyang, but has yet to receive government permission to do so.

The shipment being sent is reportedly comprised of 12 types of drugs, including antibiotics, medicine for skin diseases, and anti-inflammatories.
