Specialized High Schools May Adopt Admission Officer System

Special purpose high schools may accept incoming students through the admission officer system, following the implementation of the system at universities.

The admission officer system takes the students’ potential and talent as well as academic grades into consideration during the admissions process.

Speaking to the elementary, middle and high school principal candidates on Friday, Minister of Education, Science and Technology Ahn Byong-man said the government may allow specialized high schools such as foreign language and science high schools to use the system for their admissions process.

He explained that high schools are seeking to select future students through the system, which promotes the admission of students with strong individual character and creativity.
