Seoul Would Consider Humanitarian Aid Upon Dialogue

Unification Minister Hyun In-taek says Seoul is ready to discuss ways to provide humanitarian aid to North Korea in the event Pyongyang agrees to engage in earnest dialogue.

Hyun made the remark Monday during a speech at Sogang University in Seoul and stressed that South Korea has made ongoing efforts to provide unconditional humanitarian aid to the North.

Hyun said Seoul had repeatedly urged Pyongyang to discuss the implementation of key inter-Korean agreements but has yet to receive a definitive response from the North.
