The government will subsidizes trips to Mount Geumgang beginning early next month. Eligible for subsidies are students, separated families, the handicapped, veterans and patriots. But graduate school students will be made an exception. Elementary, middle and high school students will have 70 percent of their 'essential' travel expenses financed by the government while college students and others will receive 60 percent. The decision was made Thursday at a meeting of the South-North Exchange and Cooperation Committee. The measure is designed to revive the bankrupt Mount Geumgang tour project.
