The government is changing its method of recruiting foreign industrial trainees. The Small and Medium Business Administration said the selection of foreign industrial trainees will be done by random computer draw. Currently, selection is made by institutions stationed overseas that are responsible for accepting applications and dispatching foreign trainees to Korea. Officials say the shift in the selection procedure is aimed at eliminating corruption in the process of drafting candidates. The new system goes into effect in May.
