The Seoul Metropolitan Government will create a forest in the Mongolian capital of Ulaanbaatar to ease desertification.

The city said Sunday that it will create a forest near a plot of land where a national park is to be built in northern Ulaanbaatar at a cost of around 300 million won of next year's budget.

Seoul said it reached the decision after accepting a request from the Ulaanbaatar City Hall to that end.
