Seoul training interpretation volunteers for World Cup finals

Officials at the regional government said....the Seoul metropolitan government Saturday started proving tourism guide training for 400 more volunteers for Chinese, French, Turkish, and Spanish interpretation services for this summer's World Cup soccer finals. The tourism guide training for the "special languages" will be held on three occasions in the Tourism Human Resources Center in Seoul affiliated with the Korea National Tourism Organization. A similar educational program for 1,200 English and Japanese interpreters was conducted at the same place in February. Lessons in Korean traditional culture and customs and visits to major tourist attractions will be included in the training course. After the training, the trainees are to man information booths nationwide to assist foreign sports fans here for the global soccer extravaganza Korea will co-host with Japan May 31-June 30.
