NK Fires Three Missiles Into East Sea

North Korea test-launched three missiles off its eastern coast Saturday morning.

According to a South Korean military report, the missiles were launched between 8 and 10:45 a.m. from the North’s Gitdaeryreong base in Gangwon Province. They had an estimated range of 400 to 500 kilometers.

Military authorities are trying to confirm the missiles’ type, but a military official said on condition of anonymity that they appeared to be Scud missiles.

Saturday’s test launch came two days after the North fired four short-range missiles from its Sinsang-ri base in South Hamgyeong Province.
