A local weekly newspaper is reporting that North Korea has operated bases in China for cyber war since 2004.

Quoting a document delivered to the National Intelligence Service in 2005, JoongAng’s Sunday edition said the North set up in mid-2004 a cyber war base in a hotel in Dandong, a Chinese city on the border with North Korea.

The base was reportedly equipped with ten computers, an optical cable network and ten staffers.

The weekly newspaper said North Korea has smaller cyber war bases in other provinces of China, including Heilongjiang, Shandong and Fujian as well as a region near Beijing.
