The National Police Agency says it will invite special police officers from 14 countries to guard against hooligans during the World Cup period. The "hooligan spotters" ... two from each country ... will join two South Korean police officers to form a group of four. Each team will keep a close eye on fans with records of hooliganism and also try to spot potential trouble makers. The N-P-A has already placed an entry ban on almost nine hundred British and French fans and will also ban a number of German, Italian and Turkish fans.
The surveillance groups will recommend Korean authorities deport fans considered a threat to public order. Meanwhile, the agency designated 39 locations in ten host cities across the nation as places requiring close monitoring in an effort to prevent the possible outbreak of riot and violence.
