NK Official: Nuke Talks Forever Finished

The head of North Korea's parliament says the six-way nuclear talks are forever finished.

Attending the Nonaligned Movement summit in Egypt on Wednesday, Kim Yong-nam accused the United States of “hostile acts” against the North and refusing to recognize the communist nation’s sovereignty.

Kim said that for Pyongyang, there can be no dialogue or any negotiations where the principles of respect for sovereign rights and equality are denied. He said the North will never again attend the six-nation talks.

Kim added that due to the current status of relations, Pyongyang has no choice but to take decisive measures to further strengthen its nuclear deterrent capability.

Kim is the head of the chairman of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly, North Korea’s rubber-stamp parliament.
