Swimmer Park Fails to Make 200M Final

Swimmer Park Tae-hwan has failed to advance to the finals in the men's 200-meter freestyle at the World Championships in Rome.

In the semifinal round, Park finished in 13th place with a time of 1:46:68. Only the top eight advanced to the final.

Germany's Paul Biedermann, who earlier won the 400-meter with a world record time, had the top time in the 200-meter semis with a mark of 1:43:65. Michael Phelps of the U.S. will also compete in the final.

Park also plans to compete in the 15-hundred-meter event.
