North Korea's official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) Saturday reported on a South Korean fishing boat that was seized by North Korea on Thursday after the boat crossed the maritime border between the two nations.

The report comes four days after the incident took place.

The North Korean news agency said that the 29-ton “800 Yeonan-ho” illegally crossed the de facto inter-Korean sea border and that a North Korean naval patrol ship towed it back to the communist country.

KCNA said North Korean authorities are conducting an investigation into the South Korean boat's entry into North Korean waters.

In April 2005, the South Korean ship “Hwangman-ho” strayed into North Korean waters and was seized by North Korea. KCNA's report of the seizure came only one day after the boat was seized.

At that time, North Korea notified South Korea of its decision to return the boat through a Red Cross channel between the two Koreas. The Hwangman-ho returned home five days later.
