NK: S.Korean Ship Still Under Investigation

North Korea says it is still in the process of investigating a maritime border violation committed by a South Korean fishing ship.

The 29-ton “800 Yeonan-ho” was seized by North Korea after it crossed the maritime border between the two Koreas on July 30th due to what South Korean authorities say was a malfunction of the boat’s global positioning system.

According to the Unification Ministry, the South Korean government has been in touch with North Korea on a daily basis in regards to the investigation through a communications channel between the maritime authorities of the two countries.

The Unification Ministry sent North Korea telegrams on July 30th and 31st calling for the swift return of the ship and its crew.
