Hyundai Group Chairwoman Hyun Jeong-eun left for North Korea Monday to discuss the issue of a detained Hyundai Asan worker.

Hyun entered the North through the border city of Gaeseong accompanied by top Hyundai Asan officials.

Although past discussions of the detainee issue have faltered, Hyundai Asan is hoping for a breakthrough following the North’s release of two detained U.S. journalists last week.

The employee of the inter-Korean Gaeseong Industrial Complex has been detained in the North for over four months.
