North Korea says its mass gymnastics performance "Arirang" opened on Monday.

The North’s state-run Korean Central Broadcasting Station said Tuesday that the event opened at the May First Stadium in Pyongyang on Monday evening.

The report said military officers, laborers, foreign guests and representatives of international organizations were all in attendance.

The Arirang festival was staged in 2005, 2007 and 2008 after being inaugurated in 2002. The massive event enlists some 100-thousand people for a display of synchronized acrobatics, gymnastics and dances.
