Korea Edges Paraguay in Friendly, 1-0

The national soccer team has beaten visiting Paraguay, 1-0, in a friendly game at Seoul World Cup Stadium.

Park Chu-young of France's AS Monaco scored the game's lone goal in the 83rd minute. Teammate Lee Seung-hyun's shot was saved by the Paraguayan goalie but an alert Park shot the rebound into the upper right net for the score.

Korea also beat Paraguay for the first time in five games, and the win also marked the return of mercurial striker Lee Dong-gook for Korea.

The Taegeuk Warriors will play in their seventh straight World Cup in South Africa next year.

Up next for Korea is a friendly against Australia September 5th and another versus Senegal October 10th.
