An international forum of university students has opened in Seoul under the theme "Engaging Asia."

About 500 college students from around the world are attending the international forum jointly hosted by Sungkyunkwan University and Harvard University in the U.S.

The forum participants will discuss issues related to regional security, health and the spread of Korean culture.

The forum, launched in 1992, is held jointly every August by Harvard and other major Asian universities under the Harvard Project for Asian and International Relations.

Seoul hosted the forum in 1996 and 2003.
