The British Home Office said Monday that it will take preemptive action to prevent hooliganism at this year's FIFA World Cup. In a news briefing in London with reporters from Korea and Japan, British officials and members of the Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) said that anyone on the "watch list" of soccer offenders will not be permitted to leave the country prior to and during the May 31st-June 30th competition. They also said that police officers will be dispatched to the co-host countries to coordinate efforts to prevent hooliganism.
