Han Sung-joo, the head of the nation's bidding committee to host the 2022 World Cup, has left for Switzerland for active bidding efforts overseas.

Han plans to meet with FIFA President Joseph Blatter in Zurich Tuesday, to ask for his support in Korea hosting the event.

The committee chief will then visit Egypt, where the FIFA U-20 World Cup will be held. He will also stop by Brazil's Rio De Janeiro, the host city of a FIFA executive committee meeting to garner support for Korea's bid from the committee members.

Departing for his trip, Han pledged his best efforts for the next 15 months to host the game.
